Muay Thai camp packing list

What to bring for a training trip in Thailand, and what you can buy on arrival.

Pack light. Thailand is hot, laundry is cheap and close to most camps, and camps sell gear if you would rather buy there.

Training gear

  • Hand wraps and a mouthguard, which you should bring
  • Boxing gloves and shin guards, or buy them at the camp shop
  • Muay Thai shorts and two or three quick dry shirts
  • Sandals for around the camp and shower

Everyday and health

  • Light, breathable clothes and a rain layer in the wet season
  • Sunscreen, electrolytes, and any personal medication
  • A reusable water bottle
  • Basic first aid for blisters and shin bruises

Leave room in your bag. Many people buy gloves, shorts, and shirts from the camp during the trip.

Questions

Common questions

Do camps provide gloves?
Many camps have loaner gloves or sell their own. Bring your own wraps and mouthguard, and buy or rent the rest if you prefer.
What should I not overpack?
Clothes. Laundry is cheap and quick near most camps, so a few training outfits are enough for a long stay.
