Train Muay Thai in Phuket

Thailand's largest island and the busiest place to train Muay Thai. Big camps, west coast beaches, and options for a first class or serious fight prep.

The area

What Phuket is like

Phuket holds the widest choice of camps in Thailand. The southern end of the island, around Chalong and Rawai, is the training hub, with more camps spread toward the west coast beaches. You can fly straight into Phuket International Airport and reach most camps within an hour.

It suits beginners who want a structured first week and fighters who want daily sparring. Many camps include or arrange accommodation on site, so you can train, eat, and rest in one place.

Questions

Common questions

When is the best time to train in Phuket?
The dry season, roughly November to April, brings less rain and is the busiest stretch. The wetter months are quieter and often cheaper, with training running year round.
Do I need experience to train in Phuket?
No. Several Phuket camps run beginner classes, so you can start with fundamentals and build from there. If you want to prepare before you fly, a US coach can cover the basics first.
Where in Phuket are the camps?
Most camps cluster around Chalong and Rawai in the south, near Soi Ta-iad, locally called Fitness Street. Tiger Muay Thai and Sinbi are both on this street. Sumalee is a short drive north.
